Each school focuses on different things, to help their students realize their dreams: the Performing Arts, the Literary Arts, Culinary Arts, Visual Arts, the STEM programs, athletic programs, and then for the students lucky enough to have the gifts, there's a school for the Magic Users and one for the Elementals.
Once upon a time, when giants and gods still walked the earth, or so the legends say, there were those that could wield all manners of magic that has since been lost. There were those that could control and manipulate all eight elements - Earth, Fire, Air, Water, Electricity, Ice, Darkness, and Light. Those were the days when magic and belief were strong. Times have changed.
It's stuff of myth and legend for people to wield more than one ability - right?
The world is changing, though, and maybe those myths are starting to come back to life. Maybe.
