Leaders
Leaders are monarchs. When a leader has a litter of kittens, they must choose one of the kittens to be the next leader before they die. If the leader does not have kittens, or they do not end up choosing before their death, the deputy will take their place. If the leader chose one of their kits, but died when the heir/ess was still a kitten, then the deputy will take over and lead the Clan. From there, the deputy will train the heir/ess as an apprentice, and pass on their leadership to the heir/ess when they come of warrior age.
In order to keep things moving at a decent pace, leaders on Warriors' Island only have 3 lives, so please play accordingly.
Deputies
Deputies are chosen by leaders. Leaders generally choose their closest friend to be their deputy. Every Clan has special duties for their deputies, in addition to the responsibilities given to a deputy in the books.
In OceanClan, deputies are expected to swim out into the ocean every morning before any other cat sets paw into the water. They are to reassure everyone in the Clan that the water is safe.
In BreezeClan, deputies are required to stay physically fit. They must take the eldest group of apprentices, who are ready to become warriors, for a run across the entire territory, with only one break halfway through. If they are unable to accomplish this, they must step down from their position.
In WillowClan, deputies must climb the largest tree in the territory once every three moons. If they fall, then WillowClan's ancestors have decided that the deputy can no longer hold their position. If the deputy happens to survive the fall, they will be killed swiftly.
In CavernClan, deputies must assign which tom will mate with which molly every moon. This is optional; if you decide not to sign your cats up on the list, then you're free to choose who they mate with. You can take them off the list at any time.
Medicine Cats
Medicine cats will be able to select their apprentices from a pool of candidates chosen out-of-character by staff. When a staff member sends the medicine cat's roleplayer the list of candidates, the medicine cat's roleplayer must then make an individual thread with each kit/apprentice doing something medicinal. The medicine cat's roleplayer then selects one of the candidates based on how the character click, what might work plot-wise, etc.
The medicine cat(s) will also be the executioner(s) as the Bridge between Life and Death for the Clans. The CavernClan medicine cats will likely be the ones most commonly performing this duty.
Medicine Cat Apprentices
Medicine cat apprentices are chosen by medicine cats and staff. If you'd like to play one, write down somewhere in the character's application that you're interested in the position.
